Yarn. Lots of yarn.

Hmmm…I seem to have bought yarn. This is why I never tell people when I'm on a stash diet.

On the left there we have Rowan Yorkshire Tweed Aran* in Tusk (cream, 8 skeins), and Muffin (yellowish, 9 skeins)...I got enough of each for Christmas sweaterage, but I'm not telling which sweaters until I figure out how Christmas on the Blog will be handled this year. The Briggs and Little Heritage 2-ply (6 skeins) was an impulse purchase…I snapped it up when moon tea Julia was destashing a little while back. I didn't have a specific project in mind, but it's also an aran weight and I was rendered powerless by its slightly-heavier-than-worsted-weight siren song.

This package arrived last week as well:

It's from Steph (she of the beautiful FO shots), who was in a lovely and generous mood and giving it away. I know, I know...crazy, right? I'd never encountered Soft-Kid in the wild before, but imagine something impossibly soft and sportweightish and you'll be mostly there. This begs to be something super-snuggly in the neckwear department. Thanks so much Steph!

Continuing in the theme of giving stuff away, I have an extra Spring 2006 Knit.1 here. This would be the "Travel issue" (the one with all the piratey patterns). The best feature is the "knitting dictionary" where they translate common knitting terms into 10 languages. V. useful stuff. If you want it, leave me a comment and I'll have Thunk draw a name on Friday, ok? Excellent. I'll ship to wherever (as long as you have mail carriers). While you’re commenting, tell me something interesting or funny about yourself…Caitlyn did this a while back and I loved reading the responses she got.

In actual knitting news: River is almost finished. Almost.

*Rowan is discontinuing all the Yorkshire Tweed yarns which is tragic, because a huge number of patterns from Rowan Vintage Knits call for it. Fabulous deals with free shipping can be found here.

Hello! I love your blog! I would like to enter the drARRRR!ing (get it? Arr? Piratey?).

Oh, and something interesting about myself--I have really long arm hair, like the arm on my forearms is freakishly long. One time last spring I had one that measured in at 3.5 inches. Luckily it's really blond so you can't tell that I could double as a circus sideshow with this stuff.

Anyway, have a great day and thanks for the drawing!

Would you buy some for me and hold onto it until I'm off my yarn diet? ;)

First: congratulations on your stash additions, they are lovely. I can't wait for autumn/winter knitting to come back, I just love wool!

Second: WHAT. How can Rowan do this to me?! Er, I mean, all of us?! ;_;

Love the stash additions. I've been buying yarn too, but it -is- for swaps, and not for myself, so I'm saying it's okay.

Something interesting about me .. hrm. I have really long toes, and my middle fingers kinda curve outward, which I'm told is a sign of some oddity but I can't remember now.

I'm glad you like it :-)

I know so sad, I can't believe rowan is going to discontinued this fab yarn.

funny stuff...hmm.. few years back, I had the weirdess dream being chased my headless chickens. Lots of them. After that dream, I stop eating chicken meat for months.

ooh i love the ggh yarn! looks gorgeous.
oh i have wanted that issue for a while now so count me in!
something funny about me??? well, i am a a super-dooper perfectionist AND im like worlds laziest person, which means i am in constant conflict with myself as i want everything to be done and perfect but i cant be bothered to actually do anything. funny? maybe *sad is the proper word :0) x

Consider me ENTERED in the drawing!

Something interesting/funny... I don't like public speaking or performing anything in front of people. But, I used to be a mascot and once I got that costume on I would be a total lunatic without a ounce of embarrassment. I guess it was because no one knew who I was. Anyway, it was always a nice escape.

Wow, what fun, can't resist!

Hmm interesting fact...I am quite tall, 6'2 and I'm not shy about wearing heels that make me a giant. People always ask me, do you play basketball? No! I do not! =)

please count me in!

interesting thing about me:
My initials spell out E.A.R., which is weird because i'm completely deaf in my right ear (from birth), but the weirdest part of it, is that nobody figured out that i was deaf until I was six....crazy.
